i mentioned elsewhere that everyone thinks they just do a little and they have something good...
ok, another standing-around-in-a-pso-lobby example...
a girl talking to a girl...
the two girls are saying there are so few girls in pso...
the newer girl says "we should start an all-girl clan!"
the older girl says "there have been a couple"
now, get this...
the girl says "yeah, but, mine will be better!"
now, wait a minute...
you just acknowledged you have never seen an all-girl clan...
yet, you say yours will be better...
if you don't know how good or bad those were, how do you know???
absurd...
and, THIS is why i do not help people build websites and that sort of thing...
i am not of the mind that every schlub needs to make their own website...
they are all convinced they can make something great... they spend a day, a week, a month... but, they almost always give up...
and now, the web is so full of those projects...
eating up bandwidth and clogging up search engines...
by gosh, i made the sites i have because i looked a LOOOOONG time and could find nothing...
there was a legitimate NEED...
i saw a guy in a chat room one night saying "i want to build a site"... he kept using the phrase "i just want something to be remembered for"...
and was ASKING if anyone had a good idea for a site!!!!!!
he did not want to make something useful or needed!! he wanted something to have some glory!!!!
as tom lehrer was wont to say "i think that those who have nothing to say should at least have the common decency to shut up"
same goes for everyone building a site... they have no purpose, no goal, no mission...
they just want a site of their own...
it drives them CRAZY to go to someone else's site...
it drives them crazy to have to thank someone else...
it also reminds me of the lines from "the nightmare before christmas"... the king of halloween says...

and why should they have all the the fun?
it should belong to anyone!

he finally figured it out, loved it, then got jealous...
he can't enjoy it if it is someone else's...
because he didn't try...
he went straight from the second of figuring it out to "i bet i could improve it too!"
the same as "yeah, but, my all-girl pso clan would be better"
and as if all that wasn't bad enough, add to it that people are lazy... they won't go search the web...
and, in the case of the dreamcast'ers, i bet i know why...
once they find porn and mp3's, that is all they want from the web...
when something starts to feel like work, they say 'screw this, i'm going to download some porn'...
this is why they all post saying 'I NEED HELP!!!!!!!', go into detail about a legitimate problem they need a soultion to and say 'email me back with the answer'...
well, if you need the answer, why can you not come back to look for the answer?
